Mark began his career as a chartered accountant in Canada working for Arthur Anderson. Working in the UK charity sector since 1995, he is well known for his achievements in optimising charity investments, finances and business operations.
Notable achievements have been:
Appointed to monitor Compassion in World Farming’s investment portfolio in 2011 producing a real return gain of 10% since inception in a volatile market with ethical constraints excluding 45% of the market.
Enabled a consistent growth pattern producing a real return in excess of 7.2% per annum since 2009 for an international religious charity.
Implemented solutions with a number of organisations to improve investment reporting, financial strategic management and cash flow operations, increasing the transparency of information to trustees.
Completed a number of governance reviews, financial training programmes, charity mergers, and grant programmes.
Achieved a 50% overall cost saving for finance, and reduced reporting times at Marie Curie Cancer Care and the British Red Cross.
